20 lakh cash, firearms seized in raid as Diamond Harbor police arrest 3
Acting on credible intelligence, the Diamond Harbour Police District team launched a targeted raid overnight to crack down on illegal cash and arms distribution. During the operation in Bishnupur, law enforcement officers intercepted three suspects and recovered two illegal firearms, three live cartridges, and unaccounted cash totaling ₹20,65,900. All seized materials, including the firearms and currency, were confiscated on the spot.
The police arrested three individuals identified as Bablu Jati alias Guddu (42), Adarsh Jati alias Chhottu (23), and Kaushik Jati alias Bittu (33). Following their apprehension, a case was registered at Bishnupur Police Station under Sections 303(2) and 317(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), alongside relevant provisions of the Arms Act.
An active investigation is currently underway to ascertain the origin and intended purpose of the seized weapons and cash. Investigators are probing potential linkages to larger criminal syndicates or organized networks. Further interrogation of the arrested suspects is expected to reveal additional details regarding the supply chain.
